“Compact On-board L-band Diplexers for high-power applications” –
ESA project on the development of compact diplexers for mobile satellite communications (ESA ARTES AT AO/1-8740/16/NL/NR)
OBJECTIVES
The objective is to evaluate a new class of compact diplexers capable of 100 W RF power operation based on dielectric technology. A footprint reduction up to 50% can be achieved compared with the standard coaxial technology, while maintaining similar in-band and out-of-band performance.
Main challenges are the wider temperature range of operation and high RF power handling.
Also multipactor and PIM performances will be optimized and tested.
