RF Microtech has been selected by D-Orbit to supply an X-band antenna for the NOX satellite.

NOX is a SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) satellite used in IRIDE, an Earth observation program based on a constellation of satellites operated by ESA (European Space Agency) and ASI (Italian Space Agency).

About IRIDE

The satellite constellation, to be launched between 2025 and 2026, will use various sensing technologies, including microwave and optical imaging, and will provide data for the Italian public administration, commercial startups, SMEs and industry.blank

IRIDE will also support the Italian Civil Defense and other organizations in monitoring critical infrastructure, air quality and weather conditions.

RF Microtech will provide the antenna for SAR data transmission from space to Earth. Thanks to the innovation brought by the company, the antenna combines low weights and very high efficiency thus ensuring optimal data transmission quality.

Luca Marcaccioli, CEO and co-founder of RF, commented:

The NOX project represents an excellent opportunity for RF Microtech in the space sector, and I am sure it will be the beginning of a fruitful and long-lasting collaboration with excellences in the New Space Economy such as D-Orbit.
