For the second time, Innovation Radar recognizes RF Microtech as Key Innovator. This time with SmartWave, the EU-funded Research & Innovation project focused on the development of k-band steerable phased array antenna based on metamaterial phase shifters
The European Commission awarded prizes to Europe’s most promising innovations that have emerged from EU-funded research and innovation projects. The EU recognizes the significant contribution given by SMARTWAVE project in advanced technology for satellite and telecommunication market.
SMARTWAVE proposes a new technological platform capable to provide very low power consumption, low cost, high miniaturization and easy integration RF phase shifters for Space and SatCom applications.
Based on a novel metamaterial phase shifting mechanism, the technology will be able to provide reconfigurable systems with excellent RF performance and increased speed at low cost.
