RF Microtech attends workshop organized by ASI
In a context of continuous innovation in the aerospace industry, we are excited to take part to the ASI Workshop on “Space technologies for ASI’s future missions”, presenting our paper on Compact Filters based on 3D-Printed Ceramic Resonators.
The design and experimental results of a miniaturized wideband filter will be presented / exposed (by our RF designer Dr. Paolo Vallerotonda) on the 17th of April, during the morning session dedicated to the “Advanced Materials and advanced Manufacturing”.
RF Filters are crucial circuits that enables that enhance signal quality and minimize interference in communication systems like satellite communication, radar, and avionics.
With respect to the standard technologies, the proposed ceramic-filled filter shows:
- Up to 50% volume and mass reduction
- Customizable design and geometry
- High-power handling: up to 150W
- High thermal stability and compatibility with space environment
The proposed approach has been validated in the framework of the ARTES AT project called “COMFID” (‘COMpact broadband input FIlters at C and Ku band based on Dielectric materials’ (ESA Contract Number: 4000129893/20/NL/NR).

About the workshop
The workshop will be held at the headquarters of the Italian Space Agency in Rome from 16th to 19th April 2024 and it is aimed at industry, universities and research centers in the country.
The event, which will bring together experts and professionals from the space sector, is an inspiring opportunity to share our knowledge with the scientific and industrial community, as well as to learn from the experiences and ideas of other participants.
