‘High-Performance Dielectric Resonators’ ESA project for the development and space assessment of high performance resonators based on dielectric technology (ESA Artes Advanced Technology, Contract 4000126886/19/NL/MM)   OBJECTIVES To develop and experimentally verify high performance dielectric resonators with a quality factor (Q) times frequency (f) figure of merit (Qxf) of at least 250,000 GHz for use in input and output multiplexers in the frequency range from C- to Ka-band (3 ÷ 30 GHz).  The target is to develop enabling technology for a new source of high Q dielectric resonators and to provide a 25% increase in Q factor with respect to currently available European resonator materials.   TRL Level From 3 to 5   STATUS On-going   PARTNERS   RF microtech s.r.l. H2020 SME Instrument: SPACEFIT project approved

on 19 Feb 2015 in News |

RF Microtech’s project SPACEFIT (SPAce-CompatiblE- Filters_in_dIelectric waveguide Technology) has been approved by EU Commission for the Phase 1 of H2020 Research for SME Programme, SPACE topic. As an outcome of this project, RF Microtech will be able to introduce into the space market miniaturized and low-mass RF filters and multiplexers in L/S bands based on dielectric waveguide resonators. The proposed technology will lead to a drastic reduction of the resonator dimensions and weight (up to 50%) and cost (up to 20%) while maintaining high performances. The devices find application as input or output filters in several satellite mobile communications systems and space programs, such as Galileo, Globalstar and Iridium...
