RF Microtech has realized an innovative and high-performance ultra-wide band filter for H3G Spa and MiSE (Ministero dello Sviluppo Economico of Italy). The custom device has been developed for the wireless network at EXPO2015  in Milan and it has been installed on middle of May. It is a low-loss bandpass filter from 80 MHz up to 6 GHz and includes five high-rejection (40 – 60 dB) notched bands at all telephone mobile communication frequencies below 2.5 GHz. RF Microtech is proud to announce that its Founder and Honorary President, Prof. Roberto Sorrentino, has been selected to receive the 2015 Microwave Career Award of the IEEE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S). This award recognizes an individual for a career of meritorious achievement and outstanding technical contribution in the field of microwave theory and techniques. He’s the first Italian to receive this award since its institution in 1973. The citation reads: “For a Career of Leadership, Meritorious Achievement, Creativity and Outstanding Contributions in the Field of Microwave Theory and Techniques.” The Past Awardees list sees, among the others, names of scientists who made the history of Microwaves: Mumford, Wheeler, Whinnery, Weber, Cohn, Tomiyasu, Oliner, Marcuvitz, Matthaei, Young, Cullen, Pucel, Saad, Kurokawa, Rosen, Itoh…and many more. The 16th edition of the International Symposium on RF-MEMS and RF-MICROSYSTEMS (MEMSWAVE 2015) will take place at the Campus Nord of the Technical University of Catalonia (UPC), in Barcelona, Catalonia, Spain, on June 29th –July 1st 2015. The series of MEMSWAVE started in 2000 in Sinaia, Romania, and since 2004 has been promoted by the EC-FP6 AMICOM NoE on RF-MEMS and RF-Microsystems (MST). AMICOM evolved into the RF-MEMS Topical Group of the European Microwave Association (EuMA), which sponsors the MEMSWAVE Symposium. It consists of two events: • The MEMSWAVE Conference (June 29th-30th, 2015) where invited and peer reviewed papers will be presented to provide an international forum for scientists and industrialists for the exchange of information on the most recent advances and best achievements in the area of RF-MEMS, MSTs and RF-NEMS with emphasis on European achievements. • The RF-MST Cluster Meeting (July 1st, 2015) co-organized with the European Commission, where the achievements of MEMS-related EU projects will be illustrated and discussed.
